Gold leaf gilding is the soul of our workshop. We apply true gold leaf (22 to 24 carats) using both traditional techniques: oil gilding for exterior and resistant surfaces, and water gilding for the dazzling brilliance of ceremonial pieces.
Before the leaf is laid, the substrate receives up to ten coats of gesso (chalk and animal-skin glue), sanded to a mirror finish, then several layers of Armenian bole — the fine clay that gives gilding its warmth. This invisible preparation is what distinguishes workshop gilding from industrial plating.
Reserved for furniture and ceremonial objects, it allows agate-stone burnishing that gives the gold a deep, almost liquid radiance. Ideal for frames, mirrors and interior sculpture.
More resistant, used for architectural elements, signs and outdoor pieces. The finish is matte and profound, of great nobility.
